Do's

Send clinical details along with all diagnostic imaging
(X-Ray/OPG/CBCT) - Store the biopsy specimen in 10% formalin solution all the time
- Select and appropriate areas of biopsy, especially for incisional biopsies
Don't s
- Avoid putting the specimen in saline or water
- Avoid crushing or pressing the tissue pieces
- Avoid very small segmental biopsies (less then 1cm) in size as they are not good enough for assessment.
